Chicago Stakes might be next for Sconsin

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trainer Greg Foley said Sconsin is a possibility to go next in the Grade 3 Chicago, to be run here June 25. Sconsin earned a 94 Beyer Speed Figure as a measured winner of the Grade 3 Winning Colors on Monday in her 5-year-old debut.
Foley said he wants to “keep her fat and sassy” for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, and that he is working backward from that Nov. 5 race at Keeneland.
“We’ll map it out how to get there,” he said.

The Chicago is shaping up a good one. Bell’s the One, a familiar rival of Sconsin’s, is being targeted for the seven-furlong race, as is Lovemesomeme, who earned an 82 Beyer with her third straight victory here last Sunday.
Meanwhile, Carribean Caper, the unbeaten winner of five career starts by a combined 24 lengths, will miss the Chicago after being sidelined for 30 days with a “mild sprain in behind,” said trainer Al Stall Jr., adding the 4-year-old Speightstown filly will return to training next week at the Trackside training center. Carribean Caper was scratched from the Roxelana on opening night of the spring meet, April 30.
