Charles Town track report

Don Roberson's fellow trainers recognize that he's sharp with runners returning from layoffs.

Roberson picked up two wins last Sunday at Charles Town, but lost both horses via claims.

Vexation ($7.60), stretching out from seven furlongs to 1 1/8 miles, was taken for $5,000 by Steve Romeka. Gerry Gerry Gerry ($8.20) rose in class from $5,000 to the $10,000 level while cutting back from 1 1/16 miles to seven furlongs. He went to Richard Butts Jr.

* Sterling Wisdom ($8.60) was claimed for the third time in his last four starts in a 10-length victory going 1 1/8 miles for $3,000 claimers on Feb. 16. His new trainer is Larry Reynolds.

* Trainer Rhea Pennella, who endured a 2-for-101 season in 2004, is 2 for 13 this year following a win by 3-year-old filly Jennasluvspoppy ($97) in a sprint for maidens last Friday.
