Charles Town granted 235 dates for 2011

Joe DeVivo|Nov 23, 2010

The West Virginia Racing Commission has approved Charles Town’s request to race 235 days in 2011 – the same as this year.

In its year-long meet that runs Jan. 4 to Dec. 30, Charles Town will conduct live racing five days a week, but will condense its schedule to four times a week between June 8 and Sept. 6.

The track will be open Tuesday through Saturday from January through April, then switch to a Wednesday through Sunday schedule starting in May.

First post time will remain 7:15 p.m. Eastern, except for Sunday programs, which begin at 1 p.m. There will be an early 6 p.m. first post on April 16, June 18, and Sept. 17, the tentative dates for the Charles Town Classic, Sprint Festival, and the Race for the Ribbon special programs.
