Debra A. Roma Soul of an Angel won three graded stakes last year, including the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.

Eclipse Award champion female sprinter Soul of an Angel is on offer as a racing or broodmare prospect in a flash sale being conducted on Fasig-Tipton’s digital platform.

Bidding opened Wednesday and will close the evening of Tuesday, March 4. Soul of an Angel, a 6-year-old Atreides mare, is currently owned by C2 Racing Stable, Agave Racing Stable, and Ken Reimer, and is in training with Saffie Joseph Jr. at Gulfstream Park. She is being consigned by Taylor Made Sales, as agent.

“An Eclipse champion and Breeders’ Cup champion with outstanding physical conformation, Soul of an Angel is a true collector’s item,” Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales, said in a press release. “She uniquely suits a variety of programs, both domestically and internationally. We’re honored to have the opportunity to showcase her on Fasig-Tipton Digital.”

Already a minor stakes winner and Grade 3-placed, Soul of an Angel began to compete exclusively in graded stakes company after her private purchase by her current connections in early 2024. She won three graded stakes last year, taking the Grade 2 Ruffian going a one-turn mile at Aqueduct, the Grade 3 Princess Rooney at seven furlongs at Gulfstream, and finally, the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Del Mar to lock up her championship. She was on the board in three other graded stakes – including dueling two-time Eclipse champion Idiomatic to within a head in the Grade 3 Molly Pitcher going 1 1/16 miles at Monmouth.

Soul of an Angel was entered in the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale in November, two days after the Breeders’ Cup. She was ultimately scratched from that sale and is now on offer here. Since the Breeders’ Cup, she has made one start, finishing third by a neck in the Rampart on Dec. 26 at Gulfstream. Honored with her Eclipse in late January, her connections reported she is training toward the Grade 1 Madison at Keeneland.
