Chamblin promoted to NTRA's chief operating officer
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Keith Chamblin, the senior vice president of marketing and industry relations for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, has been named the association’s chief operating officer, the NTRA announced on Thursday.
Chamblin, who has been most closely identified with the NTRA’s organization of the National Handicapping Championship and the tournaments leading up to it, will “now work with every department to improve operational and financial performance” while continuing to oversee the projects in his previous role, the NTRA said in a release.
The NTRA has not had a chief operating officer since 2006, when the association had a much larger role in the racing industry.
Also on Thursday, the NTRA announced that the association had net revenue of $190,000 in fiscal year 2014, the third year in a row that the NTRA posted positive net revenue. For fiscal year 2013, the organization had net revenue of $667,477. Much of the NTRA’s funding comes from contributions by racetracks and industry organizations.
