Coady Photography Cattle Company won his first stakes Sunday, with a victory in the Colorado Derby at Arapahoe Park.

Cattle Company became a stakes winner on Sunday, when he drove to a 3 1/4-length victory over favorite Dugaboy Brown in the $35,000 Colorado Derby at Arapahoe Park. It was another five lengths back in third to Early Sunset.

Cattle Company ($10) was content to stalk the pace set by Dugaboy Brown, who was clear through fractions of 23.98 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.38 for the half-mile, and 1:13.24 for six furlongs. Cattle Company worked his way past the leader from there, and went on to cover 1 1/16 miles on a fast track in 1:45.67.

Tracy Hebert was aboard Cattle Company for Jeff West and trainer Tim Weeder.

Cattle Company earned $21,000 for the win, his second from 10 career starts. He has now earned $43,078. Cattle Company is a son of Early Flyer and was bred in Texas by the late Clarence Scharbauer Jr.
