Catch a Glimpse to be offered at F-T November sale

Grade 1 winner Catch a Glimpse, the 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year, will be offered at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale on Nov. 6 as a racing or broodmare prospect. Bluewater Sales will consign the 4-year-old daughter of City Zip for owners Gary Barner, Michael James, and Windways Farm.

Catch a Glimpse was getting time off at a farm this summer after going winless in three starts in 2017. She most recently competed in the Grade 2 Nassau Stakes in May at Woodbine, where she collapsed after being pulled up on the far turn. She emerged from the incident in good order.

Catch a Glimpse, who has won 8 of 15 starts for earnings of more than $1.8 million, won a pair of graded stakes as a juvenile during her championship season in 2015, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland. She opened 2016 on a roll to stretch her winning streak to seven races, highlighted by victories in the Grade 3 Penn Mile Stakes over males and the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks.

Catch a Glimpse is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Old Forester, among Canada’s leading sires. Two of her half-sisters are stakes producers, with Lenarue producing stakes winner Forestry’s Delight and Group 3-placed Anazzar, and Karsavina producing stakes-placed Tippie Tap. Bluewater is consigning the champion’s yearling half-sister, from the first crop of Can the Man, at this week’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga selected yearling sale.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to offer such a special filly at the Fasig-Tipton November sale,” said Meg Levy of Bluewater Sales. “Her credentials are impeccable – a Breeders’ Cup champion, a three-time Canadian champion, and a millionaire with an international pedigree.”
