Catalog for Colorado yearling sale now online

The catalog for the 2017 Colorado Silver Cup yearling sale is now available online, featuring 62 horses on offer.

The auction will take place Saturday, Aug. 5, at Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Colo., beginning at 6 p.m. Mountain. Horses will be available for inspection Friday, Aug. 4, from 1-5 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Passes must be obtained from the guard shack at the stable gate.

Yearlings passing through the sale ring will be eligible for next year’s $50,000-estimated Silver Cup Stakes, a 5 1/2-furlong race at Arapahoe.

Fillies offered in the sale will also be given entry preference in next year’s $30,000 Arapahoe Debutante Stakes, and graduates will receive part of a $15,000 bonus for finishing first (70 percent of the bonus), second (20 percent), or third (10 percent).

Yearlings in this year’s sale were bred in Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. Stallions represented by first-crop yearlings in the catalog include Atreides, Fornasetti, and Laugh Track.
