Catalog available for Equine Sales Co. of Louisiana yearling sale

The catalog for the 2017 Equine Sales Co. of Louisiana consignor select yearling sale is now online, with 214 horses on offer.

The auction will take place Monday, Aug. 31 in Opelousas, La., beginning at 10 a.m. Central.

“We have just about the same number of yearlings as we did last year, but I think buyers will notice an increase in the sire power of this catalog,” said sales director Foster Bridewell. “This will be the second year that we have joined forces with the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association to promote a single select yearling sale, and the result of that has been a continued increase in quality.”

Graduates of the sale will be eligible to be nominated to the 2019 editions of the Equine Sales Derby and Equine Sales Oaks at Evangeline Downs.

Stallions represented by their first yearlings in the catalog include Apriority, Brave Dave, Cameo Appearance, Can the Man, Cross Traffic, Flashback, Goldencents, Guilt Trip, Itsmyluckyday, Mucho Macho Man, Revolutionary, Shakin It Up, and Sum of the Parts.
