Catalissa wins Texas Heritage

Catalissa added blinkers and picked up his second Sam Houston Race Park stakes win on Saturday night when he drove to a five length victory over On The Border in the $35,000 Texas Heritage for 3-year-olds. It was another length back in third to Leo's Last Hurrahy.

Catalissa($3.40), who won the $50,000 Groovy at Sam Houston in November, stalked pacesetter Joe Move through an opening half-mile in 46.82 seconds in the one-mile race before overtaking that one and going on to cover the distance over a fast track in 1:36.33. Eddie Martin, Jr., rode the winner for Stonerside Stable and trainer Michael Stidham.

Catalissa earned $21,000 for the win, which was his third from five starts. His earnings are now $70,300.
