Dynatown wins a July 4 allowance at Gulfstream Park
Lauren King/Coglianese Photos Dynatown easily wins a first-level allowance at Gulfstream Park going a mile in July.

A couple of first-level allowance races share the spotlight on the nine-race Gulfstream Park West Friday card that begins at noon Eastern. Both races offer a $25,000 claiming option.

Fillies and mares are up first in the eighth race. The 7 1/2-furlong race on turf drew an overflow field of 13 horses with Cactus Kitten needing a scratch in order to run. Heiressindy, entered as main-track only, will be a serious player if the race is washed off the turf.

On turf it is a wide-open event.

Trainer Mark Casse has two legitimate chances with Dynatown and Pardon My Heart.

Dynatown should move forward in her second start back. The 5-year-old daughter of Speightstown romped going a mile on turf at Gulfstream Park in a first-level allowance race for Florida-breds that carried a $16,000 claiming option on July 4. Her next start was at this level at Gulfstream on Sept. 27 where she was in the mix early but came up empty while finishing fifth over turf rated good.

Dynatown does her best running late so she may have been too close during the early stages of the one-mile race. She will break from post 8 with Hector Berrios retaining the mount.

Pardon My Heart has been away since she won a maiden special weight going a mile on turf at Gulfstream on March 29. The lightly raced daughter of Declaration of War may need a race to be at her best, but it is encouraging to see Edgard Zayas accepting the assignment.

Amadora is stepping up in class following an impressive win in a first-level allowance race for Florida-breds that carried a $16,000 claiming option at Gulfstream on Aug. 20.

The 80 Beyer she was given is the best last-race figure in the field. She is trained by Kent Sweeney, who is winning races at a 41-percent clip at the meet.

Scatnap is coming off a runner-up finish in a $25,000 starter race at Monmouth Park on Sept. 22 for trainer Jane Cibelli.

It is uncertain what kind of trip she will get breaking from the outside post, but Paco Lopez rides so she has the right jockey for the assignment.

Man of Honor and Septemberten look like the main players in co-featured last race, a six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up that drew nine horses.

Man of Honor, trained by Louie Roussel, is coming off three-straight runner-up finishes at this level. The 3-year-old Kentucky-bred colt by Curlin will break from post 8 and should get a trip from a stalking position with Zayas riding.

Septemberten is on a nice streak and looked good winning a first-level allowance race for Florida-breds that carried a $16,000 claiming option at Gulfstream Park West on Oct. 23.

The 89 Beyer he received is the best last-race figure in the field and he could be sitting on another big effort for trainer Rohan Crichton, who remains hot with a 43-percent strike rate at the meet.
