Casse barn enjoys Breeders' Cup success

Mark Casse was the focus of one of the many great stories from the two-day Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland, breaking his career-long Breeders’ Cup drought by winning the Juvenile Fillies Turf with Catch a Glimpse and the Mile with Tepin.
“I got about 130 text messages and voice mails,” Casse said Monday as things finally began to calm down. “It was crazy good.”
Casse, a seven-time Sovereign Award winner as the top trainer in Canada, had gone 0 for 25 in Breeders’ Cup events before Catch a Glimpse won Friday. His son and assistant, Norm, has played a critical role in the day-to-day operation of his sizable stable, and their affection for each other did not go unnoticed by the media or fans.
“Obviously, it was a very special time for us,” said Mark Casse.
The Casse stable will be in full gear as the Churchill meet unfolds, as Casse splits his time between here and Ocala, Fla., while Norm Casse continues to oversee the daily rituals.
