Carter Oklahoma yearling sale catalogs available

The catalog for the 2016 Carter Sales Co. OKC summer sale of Thoroughbred yearlings and horses of racing age is now online, with 101 horses on offer.

The auction will take place Sunday, Aug. 21 at the OKC State Fairgrounds Sales Arena in Oklahoma City beginning at 2 p.m. Central.

This year’s renewal comprises a book of 96 yearlings and five unraced 2-year-olds, bred in Oklahoma, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Texas.

Graduates of the sale are eligible for a $25,000 bonus if they win the $100,000 Clever Trevor Stakes at Remington Park. Juveniles that go through the ring will be eligible for the incentive during this year’s edition of the seven-furlong race on Nov. 4, while yearlings will be eligible for the bonus in 2017.

This year’s renewal also introduces a $5,000 bonus to the seller of a graduate that wins the Clever Trevor Stakes.
Stallions whose first-crop yearlings are in the catalog include Alternation, Flat Out, I Want Revenge, and Take Charge Indy.
