ARCADIA, Calif. – Two leading contenders for Saturday’s $300,000 Frank Kilroe Mile on turf – Caracortado and Jeranimo – had their final workouts Monday. Caracortado, who won the Sunshine Millions Turf on Jan. 29, worked a half-mile on turf in 48.60 seconds at Santa Anita, while Jeranimo, winner of the Grade 2 San Gabriel Stakes on Dec. 27, worked a half-mile in 48.40 at Hollywood Park. They are expected to face six others – Acclamation, Fluke, Gallant Son, Lieve, Sebastian Flyte, and Times Gone By. Fluke won the Thunder Road Handicap on Feb. 5 and was second by a nose to the mare Proviso in the 2010 Kilroe.
