Capla Temptress drills for Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf

ELMONT, N.Y. – Capla Temptress, the winner of the Grade 1 Natalma on Sept. 17, worked five furlongs in 1:01.82 over the Belmont turf course on Sunday in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on Nov. 3 at Del Mar.
In her work, her second since being transferred to Bill Mott from Marco Botti, Capla Temptress started two lengths behind Lemoona, a maiden 2-year-old filly, and finished one length back at the wire.
“She’s been just a steady worker – that’s pretty much the information we received from Marco, who had her,” Mott said. “He said she won’t wow you in the mornings. She picked her [workmate] up, ran up to her, and that was about it. But from what [Botti] told us, that’s kind of what we expected.”
Mott said Yoshida, the winner of the Grade 2 Hill Prince, would not be pointed to the BC Mile. Mott said Yoshida could be pointed to the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar on Nov. 25 to remain with 3-year-olds or be put away for next year.
Mott also said no decision has been made on Ballagh Rocks, third in the Shadwell Turf Mile, regarding the BC Mile.
Elate, meanwhile, Mott’s other confirmed Breeders’ Cup starter, worked a half-mile in 49 seconds on Friday at Saratoga and will have another breeze this Friday at Saratoga before shipping to Southern California on Oct. 26.
