Canterbury Park track report

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Eight to 10 starters are expected for Sunday's $100,000 Lady Canterbury Stakes, according to stakes coordinator, Steve Ruff. Leading the list of possible entrants in the one-mile turf race is Bedanken, winner of eight stakes events including Keeneland's Valley View and the Bayou Breeders' Cup Handicap at Fair Grounds, both Grade 3 races.

Bedanken, owned by Pin Oak Stable and trained by Donnie Von Hemel, might face another Valley View winner in Dyna Da Wyna, who was nominated by trainer Elliott Walden. Hatoof winner Cat's Cat, from the Mike Stidham barn at Arlington, is another possible Lady Canterbury entrant, along with Sound of Gold and Border Blues.

* Jockey agent Barb Noll will replace Debbie Beasley as the chair of Canterbury Park's Don MacBeth fund-raising committee. Beasley was forced to undergo emergency surgery Tuesday as a result of previously undiscovered injuries to her neck suffered in an auto accident. She is expected to return home in the next few days.

The Don MacBeth Memorial Jockey Fund raises money to benefit injured and disabled riders. This year's Canterbury event is scheduled for June 27.
