Canterbury Park: Cherokee Triangle by one

Cherokee Triangle won his first race of his 3-year-old season when he captured the $50,000 Come Summer Stakes at Canterbury Park.

Under Jason Lumpkins, Cherokee Triangle went three wide nearing the stretch to take charge and produced a sustained response to withstand a challenge from Snoose Goose to prevail by a length on the wire. Free Fighter rallied for third, another 1 1/2 lengths behind.

Cherokee Triangle ($8.20) ran the mile over firm going in 1:35.61.
