Canterbury cancels due to track

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Canterbury Park canceled the last five races of its nine-race card on Saturday after the jockey colony elected not to complete the card.

Heavy rains fell over the Twin Cities metro area Friday night and the first four races were completed over a sloppy track. Citing unsafe track conditions, the jockeys requested a meeting with track officials before the fifth race. A subsequent announcement was made by Canterbury Park canceling races five through nine.
