Candip scores at 11-1 in allowance

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Candip wore down the odds-on Trouble Kid to post an 11-1 upset in the Wednesday feature at Gulfstream Park, a $48,000, third-level allowance at six furlongs.

Owned by the K Town Partners out of Oklahoma, Candip ($24.80) was claimed for $32,000 in May in Kentucky by trainer Mike Tomlinson. The 5-year-old Candip was ridden by Tyler Gaffalione and finished in 1:08.51 over a fast track.

Blofeld, the second choice in a field of six, was never a factor while finishing fourth.
