Canadian trainer Allain dead at 91
Woodbine has reported the passing of retired trainer Emile Allain at age 91.
Allain was a fixture on the old Ontario Jockey Club circuit for several decades, prior to saddling his last runner in November of 2004 at Woodbine.
Allain recorded 533 wins from 4,341 starters, including 54 stakes scores, and his runners earned $11.6 million. He sent out Keen Falcon to take the 1991 Coronation Futurity at Woodbine, and won the 1992 Dowager Stakes at Keeneland with Green Noble.
Allain won back-to-back runnings of the Fanfreluche Stakes at Woodbine in 2001-02, with Miss Noire and Miss Crissy.
