Can the Man to resume training Monday after grabbing quarter

Can the Man grabbed a quarter when he won the Grade 3 Affirmed Stakes for 3-year-olds June 7 but was scheduled to resume racetrack training on Monday, trainer Bob Baffert said Sunday.
“I haven’t taken him to the track yet,” Baffert said. “He stumbled leaving there, and that’s when he grabbed it. With those quarters, the longer you keep them away from the track, the quicker they grow. I wanted to make sure that he was all right.”
Owned by Kaleem Shah, Can the Man won his 2014 debut in the Affirmed Stakes over 1 1/16 miles. Last year, Can the Man won the Speakeasy Stakes for 2-year-olds over six furlongs. By Into Mischief, Can the Man has won 3 of 5 starts and earned $216,000.
Baffert said he does not have a race goal for Bayern, the impressive winner of the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes over seven furlongs at Belmont Park on June 7.
“I haven’t made a plan for him,” he said. “He’s happy.”
