Came Home's fee set at $50,000

Glenye Cain Oakford|Oct 30, 2002

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Multiple Grade 1 winner Came Home, retired from racing this week to stand at Lane's End in Versailles, Ky., will enter stud with a $50,000 fee.

Lane's End announced the fee Wednesday, one day after Came Home arrived there.

Came Home last competed in the Breeders' Cup Classic, in which he finished 10th. According to a Lane's End release issued Wednesday, the 3-year-old Gone West colt sustained an injury in that race.

"Radiographs taken on his arrival at Lane's End showed chips originating in the radial carpal bone of his left knee," the Lane's End statement said. "Surgery will not be necessary, and Came Home is expected to begin his stud duties when breeding season opens."
