California Chrome sticking with the plan for Pacific Classic

Emily Shields California Chrome and Dortmund, headss apart during the stretch run of the San Diego Handicap, will continue their rivalry in next month's Pacific Classic.
DEL MAR, Calif. – California Chrome will have his final work for the Grade 1, $1 million Pacific Classic on Sunday morning at Los Alamitos, then will head to Del Mar on Monday.
“He’s done so good over there, I don’t want to change anything,” trainer Art Sherman said while watching his horses train at Del Mar this week.
Sherman said California Chrome has been much more aggressive coming out of his victory in last month’s San Diego Handicap than he was going into the race.
California Chrome will be the favorite in the Pacific Classic, to be run Aug. 20. Among those he is expected to face are Dortmund, who was second in the San Diego, and Beholder, who won the Pacific Classic last year.
