California Chrome arrives safely in Dubai

Barbara D. Livingston California Chrome, shown at Santa Anita on Jan. 7, is expected to begin exercising at Meydan on Monday.
California Chrome arrived in Dubai on Friday evening local time after an uneventful 24-hour flight from California, trainer Art Sherman said.
Sherman said he had spoken with his son and assistant trainer, Alan, who was in Dubai when California Chrome arrived. California Chrome will spend two days in quarantine and is expected to begin exercise at Meydan Racecourse on Monday.
“Everything is good,” Sherman said. “He arrived perfectly.”
California Chrome is scheduled to have two starts at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, with the main goal the $10 million Dubai World Cup on March 26. The 2014 Horse of the Year, California Chrome is best known for winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes that year. He was second in the 2015 Dubai World Cup.
