Coady Photography Determinato, ridden by Jesus Rios, wins his third straight race in the Kaiser Handicap, giving trainer Bill White the 2,000th win of his career.
The consistent turf sprinter Determinato delivered the 2,000th career victory for trainer Bill White when he scored a front-running victory in Saturday’s $50,000 Kaiser Handicap at Calder.
Sent off the 8-5 favorite under Jesus Rios, Determinato ($5.20) has now won three races in a row and improved to 6 for 9 this season. He withstood a mild rally from 5-2 second choice Silver Cloud to finish 1 3/4 lengths in front after completing five furlongs on firm turf in 55.47 seconds. Mel Beach finished third at 21-1.
A 5-year-old owned by Ron Marano, Determinato has now won 8 of 20 starts and $333,455.
