Cal Expo: Racing suspended prior to Wednesday's card

Just an hour prior to post time for the Wednesday (4/1) card at Cal Expo, officials released the information that racing has been suspended immediately by order of the Sacramento Health Department.

A 10-race card was planned for for Wednesday as the track just switched from a Friday/Saturday schedule to Tuesday/Wednesday to fill a better slot on the racing calendar.

With the meet scheduled to end on April 22, Cal Expo is likely done racing until later this Fall.

COVID-19 has crippled the Harness Racing industry as well as the world. Cal Expo was the last North American Standardbred track still racing.
