Cal Expo: Fresh faces show up for new meet
Several new stables are on the scene and ready for action as the Watch and Wager LLC harness meeting at Cal Expo gets underway on Friday evening.
There will be 46 nights of trotting and pacing with a Friday/Sunday schedule, with the exception being special programs on Monday, December 26 and Saturday, February 11.
The province of Alberta will be well represented as Kelly Crump, Doug Stout, Trevor Williams and Travis Ellis have brought stables to the Sacramento oval for the first time.
New to California with horses from the Midwest will be Alesia Kehl and Ryan Ver Hage, while Cal Expo is also expecting a number of new drivers to be competing at this stand.
Friday's (Nov. 18) meet-opening card has 11 races including the $12,500 Rod KnittleMemorial Pace as the feature (Race 6).
