C W Prize takes advantage of hot pace to win Silver Goblin

Dustin Orona Photography C W Prize rallied to defeat Missin Hollywood in Friday's Silver Goblin at Remington Park.

C W Prize closed into a hot pace to get up for a one-length win over Missin Hollywood in the $50,000 Silver Goblin, one of three stakes for Oklahoma-breds on the Friday night card at Remington Park.

Royalamerican won his second straight stakes at the meet in the $50,000 Don McNeill and Lanaluah overtook Cyndi Loper in the $50,000 Slide Show.

C W Prize ($6.60) won the fourth stakes race of his career after he closed into fractions of 21.73 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.40 for the half-mile in the 6 1/2-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up. C W Prize went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:17.07.

Richard Eramia was aboard for trainer Joe Offolter.

Bryan Hawk bred and owns C W Prize, who is a son of Code West. He has now won 10 of 22 starts for earnings of $347,899.

C W Prize earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 80.

Don McNeill

Royalamerican ($2.60) was a three-quarter-length winner of the Don McNeill for 2-year-old at a mile one start after he won his maiden in the Oklahoma Classics Night Juvenile. For his win Friday, Royalamerican earned a Beyer Figure of 70.

Royalamerican closed from off the pace to win over Nucleus, while it was another 8 1/2 lengths back in third to Ztwentyeight. The winner covered the distance in 1:39.49.

C.R. Trout bred, owns and trains Royalamerican, who is by Upstart.

Lanaluah ($4.80) became a stakes winner when she overtook 3-5 favorite Cyndi Loper for a 1 1/4-length win in the Slide Show for 2-year-old fillies at a mile. The winner covered the distance in 1:40.37.

Lanaluah tracked pacesetter Cyndi Loper through an opening quarter in 24.10 seconds, a half-mile in 48.84 and six furlongs in 1:13.84 before moving to the fore. David Cabrera rode Lanaluah for trainer Austin Gustafson.

Gustafson also co-owns Lanaluah, who he races with Jerry Dixon and Don Ray Winter. The daughter of Beau Liam earned a Beyer of 61 on Friday.
