Lightly raced Bunny, owned by Swift Thoroughbreds and trained by Dino Condilenios, was up in time to win by a head in the $50,000 Delta Colleen for fillies and mares over 1 1/16 miles under Silvino Morales at Hastings Racecourse on Saturday. A daughter of Mo Town, Bunny stalked pacesetter Air Force through modest fractions of 24.00, 47.58, and 1:12.48 before getting up in the final steps to win in 1:43.97 over a fast strip. The winner paid $13.10. Air Force held on for second over 2-5 favorite Infinite Patience, who raced fairly evenly to be third. :: Bet with the Best! In the 1 1/8-mile SW Randall Plate it was Apprehend, who made his Canadian stakes debut a winning one for trainer Barbara Heads. The 5-year-old son of Arrogate, making just his fourth start since 2022, won for the third consecutive time for owner Peter Redekop BC Ltd.  Under leading rider Amadeo Perez, Apprehend made every pole a winning one and finished 3 1/2 lengths to the good of Settecento. It was another half-length back to Phantom Ride, who was third in the field of seven.  After the top two finishers raced eye to eye through a quarter-mile in 23.32, the tempo then slowed considerably with a half-mile in 48.32 and six furlongs run in 1:13.48. The final time for 1 1/8 was 1:49.63 Apprehend returned $4.40 as the favorite while second choice Sunbird was blocked for much of the way. At Attention was third choice in the wagering and he, too, was compromised by the early pace. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
