Buffalo: NY Sire Stakes action featured on Wednesday's card

Pleaseletmeknow and Te Amo Blue Chip emerged victorious from the two $60,300 New York Sire Stakes races for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers that took place on Wednesday afternoon at Buffalo Raceway.
There was three-wide action early in the first flight, with Shake It (Jim Morrill Jr.), Pleaseletmeknow (Matt Kakaley), and JD (Mark MacDonald) stepping out fast from posts one, four, and seven, respectively. JD was the first to relent, backing off into an available three-hole, while Pleaseletmeknow pressed on and took the lead away from Shake It heading to the 28 1/5 opening quarter.
Once the dust settled, it was pretty much all Pleaseletmeknow from there, as last year's MGM Springfield Stakes champion hit the half in 57 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:25 4/5 on his way to a 2 1/2 length decision in 1:53 1/5. Shake It was the runner-up and JD held off Roll With The Flow (Keith Kash Jr.) to finish third.
Travis Alexander trains Pleaseletmeknow, a gelding by American Ideal, for owner-breeder Fiddlers Creek Stables LLC. Pleaseletmeknow has compiled a record of 5-2-1 from nine lifetime starts, has now put away $174,972, and paid $3.60 to win as the 4-5 favorite.

The other split was contested after a downpour left the track sloppy and rated two seconds off. Te Amo Blue Chip (MacDonald) fired out and overtook Sir Real Games (Drew Monti) for command prior to 28 2/5 opening quarter, then parked out a two-wide Crack A Smile (Kyle Cummings) through a 56 4/5 half.
Crack A Smile dropped back past that marker, leaving Te Amo Blue Chip on a clear lead at the 1:26 three-quarters, around the last turn, and into the lane, but in the stretch Bounty Hunter (Morrill Jr.), who had been third-over, ducked back to the inside to save ground on the final bend, and then tipped out again midway through the turn, rallied at the leader. Te Amo Blue Chip still had something left, though, and held on by a neck in a 1:54 4/5 effort. Bounty Hunter was second, and American Zestar (Kakaley) got up for third.
Te Amo Blue Chip is a gelded son of Roll With Joe trained by John Berger for owners Barbara Berger, Barry Mandell, Larry Brown, and Theresa Donnelly. The Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc.-bred now has a pair of victories from 12 appearances, has banked $65,833, and returned $20.40 to win as a 9-1 offering.
