Heart Of Mine improved her record this year to five wins from five starts by taking the third of three New York Sire Stakes divisions for 3-year-old pacing fillies on Wednesday afternoon at Buffalo Raceway. Rightfully Mine and Summer Rae were the other victors. Driven by Scott Zeron in the $37,533 event, Heart Of Mine left from post six and took the lead away from Easy To Please (Jim Morrill Jr.) past the 28 3/5 opening quarter. After getting command, Heart Of Mine got away with soft middle-half panels of 58 2/5 and 1:28, and though several horses had a shot at catching her in the lane, Heart Of Mine was tenacious and held sway by three-parts of a length in 1:56. Easy To Please was second, and Shania Blue Chip (Drew Monti) finished third. Linda Toscano trains Heart Of Mine, a daughter of Roll With Joe bred by Brittany Farms LLC. and purchased for $70,000 at the 2019 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, for owners The Bay's Stable LLC., Radio Racing Stable, Fred Wallace, and Camelot Stable Inc. Heart Of Mine has a record of 6-5-1 from 16 career starts, and she has now earned $204,631. The 4-5 favorite, Heart Of Mine paid $3.60 to win. In the opening $36,834 flight, Rightfully Mine (Shawn Gray) raced in the pocket behind Blue Me A Kiss (Morrill Jr.) through fractions of 28 4/5, 57 4/5, and 1:26 3/5, then came to the outside past three-quarters. Rightfully Mine and Blue Me A Kiss battled around the last turn, but Blue Me A Kiss made a break late on the bend, leaving Rightfully Mine on a loose lead. From there, Rightfully Mine would go on to score by 2 3/4 lengths in 1:55, with So Diva (Mark MacDonald) second and Party Queen (Matt Kakaley) third. "She made a little bobble at the start, but once I got her straightened away, she was good," Gray stated. "I think we were going good enough, and I felt we would have nipped her (Blue Me A Kiss)." Rightfully Mine is an American Ideal filly trained by Sheena Mcelhiney for co-owner/breeder Monique Cohen and co-owner Anthony Scussel. Rightfully Mine is now a six-time winner from 16 lifetime tries, and she has banked $150,777. She was the favorite and returned $3.10 to win. Summer Rae (Morrill Jr.) was the trailer at the 29 1/5 opening quarter and the 59 1/5 half-mile station in the second $37,533 split, but she improved to fourth after Roll On Mama (Drew Monti) made a break on the third turn and bothered Major Lover (Gray). After gaining those spots, Morrill Jr. sent Summer Rae first-over going to the 1:29 three-quarters, and she gained quickly on the final bend. While Summer Rae sat off-the-pace, race favorite Albergita Hanover (Zeron) was on the lead at three-quarters, with second choice Carrington (MacDonald) in the pocket, but on the last turn first Carrington went off-stride, and then as Summer Rae was going by her from first-up, Albergita Hanover also jumped it off, putting Summer Rae in charge by open lengths. Tava (Kakaley) gained at Summer Rae through the lane, but it wasn't enough as Summer Rae won by a length in 1:57 at odds of 24-1. Major Lover wound up third after getting interfered with. The victorious filly by Roll With Joe is co-owned by trainer Tom Fanning in partnership with Kathleen Whitaker, Charles Rowe, and Paul Lang. Summer Rae, bred by Flintlock Farm Inc. and acquired for $50,000 at the 2019 Standardbred Horse Sale, posted her third career victory, and she has now pocketed $75,087. She paid $50.00 to win.  --quote courtesy of Buffalo Raceway--
