Buffalo: Double dose of Sire Stakes on Wednesday

webmaster|Jun 23, 2025

There will be a double dose of New York Sire Stakes action at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (June 25) as the 3-year-old trotters of both sexes come to town.

There will be plenty of purse money on the line as nearly $375,000 will be distributed throughout the 15-race program that gets underway at 2:30 p.m.

The top event will be the $119,700 trot for the colt and geldings as a field of seven will go to the post.

BJM's Lil Man heads the field after winning three of four races with $75,735 in earnings in 2025 and $222,435 lifetime. Trained by John Berger, BJM's Lil Man (Devious Man-Vixen) has won an Excelsior event and has also posted a victory in the NYSS at Monticello Raceway cruising to a 1-3/4 length score in 1:55 4/5. Tyler Buter will get the call aboard BJM's Lil Man but will start from the seven hole.

Driver-trainer Ray Schnittker will bring in Karincak (Chapter Seven-Sianna Hanover), who will begin from the four post. She's won three times in eight attempts on the campaign, bringing in $65,037 and has a sharp seasonal mark of 1:53 2/5.

Others in the field include Fadeaway Hanover, Civilian Drone, Seven Layer, Memento Mori and Seismic Step.

The sophomore female trotters will be broken down into two divisions, with each running for approximately $57,000 each.

The first event will go in the fourth race as a field of five will go at it.

Calculus Risk (Devious Man-K Squared Hanover) arrives with $177,466 in career earnings. She was second in the NYSS at Saratoga Raceway back on May 18.

Always A Story, Inn Of The Stars, Sunday's Brunch and Michelon's Titan complete the field.

The second event will go as the seventh race.

My Debt Collector is the one to beat as she comes to town with a trio of NYSS victories already pocketed in 2025. Trained by R Nifty Norman, My Debt Collector (Chapter Seven-Magic Presto has been in the money in all seven of her attempts, with four victories and three second-place finishes. She has bankrolled $143,657 on the season and has earned $378,433 in her career.

Trying to knock her off her pedestal will be Pink Bomb, Barn Angel and K J Title.

There will be a pair of $20,000 races for the boys in the Excelsior Series with the ladies battling in a $20,000 Excelsior event.
