Brown to run three in United Nations

Trainer Chad Brown has won the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes three times and will have three chances to get his fourth win July 17 in the 1 3/8-mile turf fixture.
Brown on Friday said he expects to enter Tribhuvan, Master Piece, and Serve the King in the U.N. Serve the King is based at Monmouth and finished fourth in the June 5 Monmouth Stakes, his first race after a long layoff. Master Piece and Tribhuvan will ship from New York. Both last started in the Manhattan, Master Piece finishing sixth, Tribhuvan second.
Off his Manhattan, where he set a strong pace and held off everyone save the excellent Domestic Spending, Tribhuvan could be the U.N. favorite. Brown said Tribhuvan has continued training well since the Manhattan and “is a different horse since being gelded” before the start of his 2021 campaign.
“Three turns and a mile and three-eighths, that’s something he’s never done before, so we’ll have to see,” Brown said.
Arklow, fourth in the 2020 U.N., is a confirmed runner, as is Glynn County, an improving 4-year-old from the barn of Mike Maker, who has trained two of the last four U.N. winners.
◗ Altaf, sharp winner of the June 5 Lady’s Secret at Monmouth, her stakes debut and third straight victory, is out of training after getting very sick, trainer Chad Brown said.
