Brown, Motion well represented in Memories of Silver

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Chad Brown and Graham Motion each won a turf stakes over the weekend, and the two trainers have 60 percent of the field for Friday’s $100,000 Memories of Silver Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct – provided the race stays on turf.
Only five were entered to run in the 1 1/16-mile Memories of Silver, while three other horses were designated to run only if the race is moved to the main track.
Brown will send out the uncoupled entry of Blowout and La Feve, the second- and fourth-place finishers, respectively, from the Grade 3 Florida Oaks on March 9 at Tampa Bay Downs.
Motion sends out Her Royal Highness, who finished seventh in the Florida Oaks, beaten only 2 1/4 lengths.
“She was really wide off the turn,” Motion said. “It was her first time on grass and she was very competitive.”
Blowout will be favored after having to wait for running room in the Florida Oaks, Her late run fell a half-length short to Concrete Rose, who is a two-time graded stakes winner.
Also entered in the Memories of Silver are Feel Glorious and Aunt Hattie, coming off allowance wins at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs, respectively.
For the dirt, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin entered It Justhitthe Wire and Takecharge Mirella, while trainer Todd Pletcher put in Two Dozen Roses.
Meanwhile, Brown said that Fifty Five, winner of Sunday’s Plenty of Grace Stakes at Aqueduct, would likely make her next start in the $125,000 Mount Vernon for New York-breds on May 27.
Motion said that Regally Irish, winner of Saturday’s $100,000 Bridgetown Stakes, would likely make his next start in the $100,000 James Murphy Stakes at Pimlico on the May 18 Preakness Day card.
◗ Manny Franco’s four-win Sunday moved him into a first-place tie atop the jockey standings with Jose Lezcano, with 13 wins apiece. There are four days remaining in the Aqueduct spring meet, which ends Saturday.
