Brown has promising pair of juveniles headed for stakes tries

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Chad Brown won both graded stakes run over the weekend at Aqueduct, but there were two other winners he had who may have overshadowed those successes.
Brown won juvenile maiden races with Keewaydin, a son of Instagrand, and Fully Subscribed, a daughter of Tiz the Law. Those horses are now likely stakes-bound in the coming months.
Keewaydin, beaten a head by Tip Top Thomas in a fast maiden race at Saratoga going six furlongs in August, won a seven-furlong race by 1 3/4 lengths here Saturday. His final time of 1:22.09 translated to a 90 Beyer Speed Figure.

Brown said he will give serious consideration to the Grade 2, $250,000 Remsen Stakes to be run Dec. 7 at Aqueduct.
Brown acknowledged that stretching out to 1 1/8 miles is a tall order, but the fact Keewaydin has two runs under his belt, including a winning race over Aqueduct’s main track, makes the Remsen a little more to his liking than the Grade 2, $400,000 Kentucky Jockey Club on Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs.
“This horse has two races, albeit quite shorter than the mile-and-an-eighth distance of the Remsen, but he has two good races, so I’m inclined to try it based on how he’s training so we’ll see,” Brown said. “I’ll discuss it with [owner] Larry Best; we could also take him on the road.”
On Sunday, Brown sent out the first-time starter Fully Subscribed to a four-length debut victory at Aqueduct. Fully Subscribed, owned by Seth Klarman, rallied from off the pace under Dylan Davis and completed seven furlongs in 1:23.02, which resulted in a Beyer Speed Figure of 72.
Brown said even though Fully Subscribed would only have one race under her belt, a race like the Grade 2, $250,000 Demoiselle at 1 1/8 miles will be considered.
“It was a quick time. She always trained like she had serious potential and with her pedigree top and bottom she’s certainly bred to route,” Brown said. “If she comes out of it healthy and trains along the right way, we’ll certainly consider the Demoiselle for her. She was no surprise.”
Meanwhile, Brown tallied graded stakes wins 44 and 45 on the year with Spaliday in Saturday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Sands Point and Andthewinneris in Sunday’s Grade 3, $169,750 Knickerbocker Stakes.
Spaliday, a 3-year-old daughter of More Than Ready owned by Peter Brant, is likely to get a break.
Andthewinneris beat stablemate Redistricting by a head in the Knickerbocker, with Redistricting getting the worst of the trips.
Brown said both horses could be candidates for the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf on Jan. 25 at Gulfstream with a race beforehand, at least for Redistricting.
Redistricting was making his first start since he was pulled up in the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby in December 2023. Brown said he had a few minor things to work through while he attempted to bring him back to the races, but loved the way he ran Sunday, save the traffic he encountered in the stretch.
“He’s a serious horse, this is a Pegasus-level horse,” Brown said.
Andthewinneris was making his fourth start for Brown in the Knickerbocker. He rallied from last under Dylan Davis, who said after the race that he was supposed to be more forward early but that opportunity did not materialize.
