Brown to double-team Mohaymen in Remsen

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Chad Brown will send out two juvenile colts – Gift Box and Flexibility – in Saturday’s Grade 2, $300,000 Remsen at 1 1/8 miles here.
Gift Box, a son of Twirling Candy, defeated Matt King Coal by a nose in an off-the-turf race at Belmont on Oct. 3 in his second start. Matt King Coal returned to win a maiden race and earn a Beyer Speed Figure of 96. Flexibility, a New York-bred son of Bluegrass Cat, defeated statebreds in his Oct. 10 debut and finished second to Mohaymen in the Grade 2 Nashua on Nov. 4.
Mohaymen, a 2-for-2 son of Tapit, likely will be favored in the Remsen, a race that is expected to include Donegal Moon, Hunter O’Riley, Runaway King, Sail Ahoy, and Marengo Road.
In addition to the Remsen and the Grade 1 Cigar Mile, Saturday’s card will include the Grade 2, $300,000 Demoiselle for 2-year-old fillies and the Grade 3, $300,000 Comely Stakes for 3-year-old fillies.
Those expected for the Demoiselle include Disco Rose, Flora Dora, Invite, Lewis Bay, Thrilled, Taken by Surprise, and Wild Ridge.
Those expected for the Comely include Carrumba, Delightful Joy, Fast Retailing, Forever Unbridled, Jc’s Shooting Star, Peace and War, Stroke Play, Temper Mint Patty, and Wonder Gal.
