Broodmares kick off Canadian mixed sale

A total of 188 lots have been cataloged for the 2010 Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society’s annual winter mixed sale, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion.

Major consignors to the sale include Cara Bloodstock, Hill ‘N’ Dale Sales Agency, Longview Farm, Richard Moylan, Paradox Farm, and Woodlands.

The first 105 entries are broodmares, in foal to such stallions as Milwaukee Brew, Alphabet Soup, Sligo Bay and Wild Desert. They will be followed by the stallion Alystar Slew, and seasons to champions Mobil and Wando.

Among the 45 weanlings cataloged are offspring of Bold Executive, Philanthropist, Trajectory, and Where’s the Ring. Also scheduled to go on the auction block are 14 yearlings, and 21 horses of racing age.
