BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, September 25, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Other than a shocker by a starter we did not care for at Churchill, and a trifecta play by another at Golden Gate, it was not a banner Pix last week. However, BreezeFigs maidens overall had a smashing week, with 14 other 2-year-old winners and a half-dozen 3-year-olds coming home on top. The babies won at Belmont (three, including an opening day BreezeFigs super); Delaware (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta); Gulfstream (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas); Laurel (two); and solos at Indiana, Los Alamitos, Prairie Meadows and Remington. The sophomores won at Belmont (BreezeFigs exacta), Charles Town, Laurel, Los Alamitos, Parx and Presque Isle. Today’s cards are loaded but we found a couple that might work out, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
2-Year-Olds:
Churchill Downs, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Interesting set-up here as Cloudy, turf bred on the top, goes on the dirt in his debut for a clever outfit. He carries a seven-over-Par Group 1 ticket in this race from OBSAPR where his 24.70 foot stride length (SL) was more than three-fifths of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. High Speed Rail put up a two-over-Par Group 2 profile at OBSJUN with a 23.74 foot SL, almost half a foot shorter than average for colts that day at a furlong—and was not sold (RNA) at 62k.. We’d key Cloudy here in what could be a key event and watch the board to consider using High Speed Rail in the gimmicks..
3-Year-Olds:
Parx Racing, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
There are a number of BreezeFigs horses on the card at this track’s biggest day but we like the chances of Johnny Swish in this race. He posted an even-Par Group 2 profile at OBSJUN with a 24,13 foot S, a third of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong; however, he was not sold (RNA) at 32k. Semper Fidelis posted a nine-over-par Group 1 profile at OBSAPR with a 25.14 foot SL, more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day but hasn’t shown a thing in his first three starts. In his debut Outworknforakiss lived up to his 11-under-Par Group 4 profile at EASMAY where his 23.99 foot SL was almost half a foot shorter than average that day. We think Johnny Swish is a logical key here. Good luck!
