BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, Saturday, September 22nd
Last weeks card was weak to begin with, and we didnt quite come out on top with our Pix. But the basic rules still hold about BreezeFigs qualified runners: You can get a good idea of what qualified BreezeFigs horses are by clicking on BreezeFigs Information underneath the two BreezeFigs links in the DRF-PLUS box in the right hand column on the home page and downloading files there. Remember, keep stride length (SL) in mind when handicapping from the BreezeFigs sheet and take advantage of all the tips that we provide on those sheets as well.
Like last week, this weeks BreezeFigs card is overloaded with tough choiceslots of stakes races and some maiden races where the BreezeFigs horses have somewhat weak profiles. Theres an obvious one at Belmont Park worth looking at, and never let it be said that we are not the masters of the obvious.
Belmont Park, , Maiden Special, 5 ½ Furlongs
Three firsters with decent BreezeFigs give complexity to this race filled with all sorts of firsters. Smoken Coal, a $550k purchase, had a good profile with a 24-plus SL and one-over-Par, Group 1 fig at ¼ mile at OBSFEB. Hes got the connections, been working steadily, but he might be vulnerable because he might want a bit more distance. In that case, consider DWildcard, whose got speed written all over him and came out of the same OBSFEB sale with a decent Group 2 profile at 1/8 mile. Bomber B Back was an RNA at 45k at the tony FTFFEB sale, so there might have been some vet issues at that time, but he has had plenty of time to come along and could be ready to pick up a piece. Inscrutable race, but might be good value all around. Good luck!
