We really did not expect our Del Mar Pick Queengol to go off at fairly long odds but we will take the $20 she paid to win and pocket it. Unfortunately, our Charles Town Pick Guapa Chico got into an early contretemps and could not get the prize. However, in addition to Queengol there were 15 other 2-year-old BreezeFigs maidens who won last week with a number kicking off BreezeFigs exactas. These victories came at Delaware, another at Del Mar, Golden Gate (BreezeFigs exacta), Gulfstream (five, including two BreezeFigs exactas) Laurel, Louisiana Downs, Monmouth (BreezeFigs exacta), Presque Isle, Saratoga, Thistledown and Woodbine (BreezeFigs exacta). The 3-year-old acquitted themselves well with seven of them coming home on top at Arlington (BreezeFigs exacta), Century Mile (in Edmonton), Gulfstream, Monmouth (BreezeFigs exacta), Prairie Meadows (two), and Presque Isle. Today’s cards are spotty when it comes to first timers, none of them being 3-year-olds. However, we’ve come up with a pair at Gulfstream to consider, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

2-Year-Olds

Gulfstream Park, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Turf)

Both of our Pix are at long odds in this one so watch the board. Maureen’s Star comes out of OBSJUN with a 10-over-Par Group 2 profile that featured a modest 23.57 foot stride length (SL) which was about a third of a foot shorter than average that day. He was not sold (RNA) for 19k. On the other hand, Time to Wish garnered 240k after pounding out a five-over-Par Group 2 performance at OBSAPR where is 24.95 foot SL was average at a quarter mile. He looks like a solid gimmick bet at 12-to-1, while Maureen’s Star might clunk up but watch the board.

Gulfstream Park, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 Furlongs (Dirt)

This one has half a dozen BreezeFigs fillies entered including one on the AE list whom we quite like—Romantical Note whose four-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSJUN featured a 24.56 foot SL, a foot longer than average that day, but she was RNA at 20k. All of the others in the body of the race have a good shot including I’m a Coco Pebbles who chalked up a three-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSJUN at three furlongs with a 25.06 foot SL, which was more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average that day. She’s in tough on the rail which may account for her 20-to-1 price. Undeniably turned in an even-Par Group 1 performance at OBSAPR with a 25.48 foot SL that was more than a foot longer than average that day and looks good here at 8-to-1. Pretty Princess and Shea D Summer threw in one-under-Par Group 3 performances at OBSAPR as did Venezuelan Talent at OBSMAR. There is not that much to choose among these three although Pretty Princess, who was RNA’d at 45k after producing a 22.97 foot SL really bombed out in her debut. On the other hand, Shea D Summer (24.70 foot SL) needs some close attention as does 51k RNA Venezuelan Talent (24.85 foot SL). All of them were well above average in SL on their day. We think you should pay most attention to Undeniably and Venezuelan Talent with consideration for all the others including Romantical Note if she gets in. Tough one. Good luck!
