BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, September 22, 2018, by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLENever did we expect our sneaky Pick, Better Charge It, to go off at 87-to-1, but he did and he ran gamely all the way around to fill out the trifecta with a juicy show payoff as well. Meanwhile on the same day three BreezeFigs juvenile maidens won at Belmont and on the opposite coast the Barretts Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Los Alamitos resulted in a BreezeFigs trifecta. All told 18 BreezeFigs maidens won last week with a plethora of BreezeFigs exactas. In addition to the three at Belmont, two more clocked in at that track. The others came at Churchill (two), Golden Gate, Gulfstream (three, including two BreezeFigs exactas), Laurel (BreezeFigs exacta), Los Alamitos (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Parx (BreezeFigs Exacta), Remington (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), and Woodbine. Saturday's card gives us some other sneak opportunities, and we’ve come up with three of them, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Churchill Downs, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
Take Charge Angel was scratched (SCR) after breezing at OBSMAR where she posted a three-over-Par Group 2 profile with a 23.57 foot stride length (SL), just a bit below average for fillies that day at a furlong. She comes in here at 5-to-2 so she isn’t going to be ignored and might be your key here. Ravenel posted a three under Par Group 3 profile at the same sale with a 24.14 foot SL, more than a third of a foot below average that day, and tired badly in her debut, may be worth a cautious gimmick play here.
Golden Gate Fields, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight, One Mile (Turf)
Flying Blue’s BreezeFigs profiles scream “a mile or more, please.” She earned an even-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSAPR with a 24.81 foot SL, more than three-quarters of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong, but was scratched before the sale. She came back at OBSJUN with a three-over-Par Group 1 effort at a quarter mile with a 24.60 foot SL, just lover average for fillies that day. Pounce.
SNEAK PICK:
Laurel Park, 4th Race, Laurel Futurity, 6 Furlongs (Turf)
Four BreezeFigs colts in here but the one to watch is the first-timer Stole E who comes out of OBSAPR with a three-over-Par Group 2 ticket that featured a 24.76 foot SL, almost half-a-foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Nice colt, mix him in or play him straight. Good luck!
