BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, September 19th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Let us not dwell upon big mistakes. Our Pick last week was salvageable because one of our gimmick recommendations, Metal Magic, completed a nice $37 exacta. But the other, let us not name him, ran the single worst race of any of our debut Pick in this crop, and that is that. On the other hand, eight BreezeFigs maiden 2-year-olds won last week, including three at Gulfstream, and solos at Belmont, Churchill, Los Alamitos, Presque Isle and Zia. Today’s card is bulging at the seams, but we have an interesting play, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick: Belmont Park, 1st Race, Maiden Special Weight 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Four BreezeFigs colts in here, one first-timer, Seymourdini, who cost 900k at OBSAPR and who has a nice profile and serious connections. His four-over-Par Group 2 effort featured a 25.54 foot stride length, almost two-and-a-half feet longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. Sheesh! Closest to that effort was a similar profile thrown up at OBSMAR by Little Schmo, who has bombed out in three previous starts already. King Kranz, on the other hand, ran an interesting race in his debut and this OBSMAR graduate posted 23.85 foot SL on his way to a two-over-Par profile there. Congrats Kid’s debut just about matched his Group 4 profile at EASMAY where his 23.78 foot SL at a quarter mile was about a quarter-foot short of average that day. Seymourdini looks solid as a gimmick play and King Kranz could add some spice to the payoff. Good luck!
