BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, September 17th, 2016 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Despite the fact that our Pick last week just went one-paced and didn’t figure in the finish, it was a very good week for BreezeFigs maidens (14 winners) and stakes winners (three). The maiden winners came at Belmont (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Delaware, Golden Gate, Gulfstream (three, including two exactas), Laurel (two, including an exacta), Los Alamitos, Monmouth, Mountaineer, and Remington. The stakes winners came at Arlington, Finger Lakes and Louisiana Downs. How’s that for “sea to shining sea?” Saturday's card is chock full in size, but we’ve found a nice opportunity, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Arlington Park, 5th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Synthetic)
Looks like a tight fit here between two BreezeFigs first-timers with a third along for a possible piece. Carson Kan obviously had a physical issue when he threw in a two-under-Par Group 3 performance at OBSMAR with a basically average 24.03 foot stride length (SL). However, he was scratched after the breeze, then came back at EASMAY with a solid two-over-Par Group 1 profile with a 24.87 foot SL, almost three quarters of a foot longer than average for colts at a furlong that day. All Spun Up punched a one-over-Par Group 1 ticket at OBSJUN with a 23.82 foot SL, basically average for colts that day at a furlong. Vinnardini posted a two-under-Par Group 3 profile at OBSMAR with a just-about-average 24.27 foot SL. Looking at the whole picture, it’s a pretty solid key for Carson Kan and you might want to toss one or both of the others into the gimmicks. Good luck!
