BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, September 11, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Last week’s Pix were a case of keys paying off even though none of them won. In the first race, they completed the trifecta and superfecta, and in the seventh race there were exacta, trifecta and superfecta payoffs, if you played the right. Otherwise, it was a very eventful week for BreezeFigs maidens as 23 of the 2-year-olds won at: Canterbury, Delaware (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Del Mar (two, including a BreezeFigs trifecta), Ellis, Finger Lakes, Gulfstream (two, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Kentucky Downs (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta), Laurel, Monmouth (two), Saratoga (six, including a BreezeFigs exacta) and Thistledown. The 3-year-olds kept up their pace with five winners at Albuquerque, Del Mar, Ellis (two), and Timonium. Today’s card has no first-time 3-year-olds and a ton of baby firsters, with one that may produce a decent payoff, see below. Stay safe and good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
2-Year-Olds:
Gulfstream Park, 9th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Five BreezeFigs colts make their debuts in this one with two that look promising, one on the cusp and two not making the numbers—ours, not the morning line. Mr Rum Runner comes in here with a two-over-Par Group 1 ticket from OBSAPR where his 24.50 foot stride length (SL) was a half-foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. However, he was not sold (RNA) on a final bid of 17k, so something must not have pleased the crowd. Rojo Toro pasted a 10-over-Par Group 1 ticket on his resume at OBSJUN where his 27.93 foot SL was three and three-quarters feet longer than average (yes, that’s correct), but he was scratched from the sale (SCR) after that. Hammer D came out of his OBSJUN breeze with a one-under-Par Group 3 ticket that featured a 23.65 foot SL, a quarter foot shorter than average. R Big G and Thousand Letters breezed on separate days at OBSAPR and posted nebulous numbers. If you utilize Mr Rum Runner and Rojo Toro in your gimmicks you might score fairly well, and if you toss in Hammer D judiciously, that might also work. Good luck!
