BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, October 29, 2016 by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore
Desultory is probably the correct way to describe the way our Pix ran last week. This, too, shall hopefully pass. There were a lot of other BreezeFigs maidens who ran with interest and alacrity during the week, however: 15 of them won, and another previous winner took a stakes. The winners came at Belmont (four), Charles Town, Finger Lakes, Golden Gate, Gulfstream West (four, including an exacta and trifecta), Keeneland, Santa Anita (two, including a trifecta), and Woodbine. Saturday's card is all over the place, but we are giving the night birds a chance in our Pick, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Delta Downs, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)
Crown and Silver comes out of the OBSJUN sale with a very decent four-over-Par Group 1 profile which featured a 23.98 stride length—about a third of a foot longer than average that day for fillies at one furlong. At 10-to-1, she looks like a minimal gimmick play. Impazible Pat is on the AE list, also at 10-to-1, also a graduate of the OBSJUN sale. She had a three-under-Par Group 3 profile but her 23.62 foot SL was half-a-foot longer than average that day. She might be worth a look if she gets in. Good luck!
