BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, October, 27, 2018 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
Last week’s Pick Avocado ran like guacamole and that’s all we’ll say about that. On the other hand, 13 other BreezeFigs maidens won during the week in another fine showing for the crowd. The wins came at Belmont (two), Gulfstream (three), Indiana, Keeneland, Mountaineer, Parx, Penn (BreezeFigs trifecta) and Santa Anita (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta). In addition, BreezeFigs babies won stakes at Belmont and Finger Lakes (BreezeFigs exacta). Saturday's card is packed with all sorts of opportunities but many of the tracks are threatened with storms, so we are picking and choosing between the jet stream and have come up with two possibilities, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pix:
Keeneland, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf)
Stuck on the rail is not too cool no matter what surface but Corruze had a very nice OBSMAR five-over-Par Group 1 profile with a 25.07 foot stride length (SL), four-fifths of a foot longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. He is also by Into Mischief, a stallion whose offspring like to mix it up and win. Kinetic Swagger had a three-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSAPR with a 24.88 foot SL, which was half a foot longer than average for colts that day, but tired badly in his debut. Although he’s 15-to-1 in the morning line, we’d key Corruze and watch the board to consider throwing in the other one in the gimmicks.
Hawthorne, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
Lady Furbein comes into this one off a one-over-Par Group 2 effort at OBSJUN where her 25.89 foot SL was more than two feet longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. At 6-to-1 she is a very logical play no matter how you choose. Good luck!
