BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, October 24th by Bob Fierro and Jay Kilgore

webmaster|Oct 23, 2015

Well, he may have been slow at the breeze show, but Jan’s Reserve moved fast enough to pay $11 as one of our “watch-the-board gimmick plays.” Unfortunately, our preferred Pick, Cast Iron, ran as if he were a cast iron pan—slow. Jan’s Reserve was one of 16 BreezeFigs maidens who won last week, including five who combined with another for a BreezeFigs exacta. There were two more at Belmont (including an $88 exacta), three at Indiana, and two apiece at Gulfstream West and Santa Anita (both exactas at $82 and $152). Solos came at Delaware, Delta Downs, Golden Gate, Keeneland ($23 exacta), Woodbine, and Zia ($14 exacta). In addition, the Futurity at Belmont resulted in a $57 BreezeFigs exacta of Annual Report and King Kranz. Today’s card is chock full oof opportunity among the first-timers, but there’s one which is sneaky promising, see below. Good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick: Santa Anita Park, 6th Race, Maiden Special Weight, 5 ½ Furlongs (Dirt)

Three of the four BreezeFigs maidens in here are first-timers, each with a solid chance. Jes Jaa motored to a four-over-Par Group 2 profile at OBSAPR with a 24.77 foot stride length (SL), almost a foot-and-three-quarters longer than average for colts that day at one eighth. On the same track a month earlier at OBSMAR, Jury put up an even-Par Group 2 profile at the same distance with a 24.41 foot SL, almost a half-foot longer than average. Then at BARMAY, Nothingelsematters posted a one-under-Par Group 3 profile with a 25.91 foot SL, 1.89 feet longer than average for colts that day at a furlong, and that was astounding for this new venue at Del Mar. Papa Papa Papa showed his three-under-Par Group 3 profile at BARMAR was probably on target in his first start where his 23.87 foot BreezeFigs SL was two-thirds of a foot below average. While we like Jes Jaa and Jury, we really like Nothingelsematters, who may need more distance but at this distance might be able to sit back and swallow them up at the end anyway. He should be your key. Good luck!
