Belmont Park

BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, October 23, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

webmaster|Oct 22, 2021

Where’s Joey, our 3-year-old Pick last week, gave us some palpitations all the way but had to settle for completing the trifecta and squeezing into the superfecta. The 2-year-old race at Keeneland was rained off the turf and our choice was scratched. Still, it was a boon week for the babies with 15 of them breaking maidens, many kicking off generous gimmicks at: Belmont (three, including a BreezeFigs trifecta); Delaware (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta); Gulfstream (four, including two BreezeFigs exactas); Keeneland (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta); Parx (BreezeFigs exacta) and Santa Anita (BreezeFigs exacta). Four 3-year-olds won at Finger Lakes (two), Gulfstream and Santa Anita.. Today’s cards are rich in opportunities but we found one that sticks out pretty much, see below. Stay safe and good luck!

If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.

Here’s Saturday’s Pick:

2-Year-Olds:

Belmont Park, 7th Race, Maiden Special Weight), 6 Furlongs (Dirt)

First-timer Sweet Lies comes in here with a five-over-Par Group 1 profile from OBSAPR where her 25.76 foot stride length (SL) was a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a quarter mile. She is joined by Sweet Sugar Baby whose OBSMAR profile showed a one-over-Par Group 2 effort with a 24.26 foot SL, more than a foot and a quarter longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong; they tried her on turf and that didn’t work but her previous two dirt starts may give her a gimmick chance. Meanwhile, we’d look seriously at Sweet Lies as your key. Good luck!
