Desultory efforts by our Pix except a backdoor one was the result last week with a decent BreezeFigs contender Semper Fidelis who’d failed to impress in three previous starts hammered home at Parx at $9. He was one of a dozen BreezeFigs 3-year-olds who broke their maidens last week along with another one at Parx and solos at Belmont, Finger Lakes, Los Alamitos and Mountaineer. The 2-year-olds offered a much different result—a dozen broke their maidens, and seven of them came at Gulfstream. Those included three in one day (including a BreezeFigs trifecta), and two on another day one which was a BreezeFigs exacta. The other five came at Charles Town, Churchill, Delaware, Mountaineer and Remington. Today’s cards are challenging but we found two that might be worth looking at, see below. Stay safe and good luck! If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf. Here’s Saturday’s Pick: 2-Year-Olds: Belmont Park, 2nd Race, Maiden Special Weight, 7 Furlongs (Turf) She’s stuck on the rail but her 13-over-Par Group 1 profile at OBSAPR indicates Herington Rocket has sufficient speed to get out there and make trouble from end-to-end. Her 23.77 foot stride length (SL) was just above average for fillies that day at a furlong. She might have some company late in Sirius Princess who did OK in her debut coming off an even-Par Group 2 at OBSJUN where her 24.38 foot SL was seven-eighths of a foot longer than average for fillies that day at a furlong. But she was not sold (RNA) on final bid of 65k. That’s interesting because she’d earlier been reported as sold for 30k at OBSMAR where her two-over-Par Group 2 effort at a quarter mile featured as similar SL profile of 24.31 feet, two-fifths longer than average that day. We think Herington Rocket might be your key here but watch the board for Sirius Princess’ action as well. 3-Year-Olds: Laurel Park, 8th Race, Maiden Special Weight, One Mile (Dirt) Two first timers who each posted four-over-Par Group 2 tickets at a furlong at separate sales are in here with what looks like strictly gimmick chances. Epic Run is on the rail at 20-to-1 which belies his effort at EASMAY where his 26.41 foot SL was a foot longer than average that day. On the other hand, Starrystarryknight, the best named horse of the day (by Maclean’s Music), showed a 23.60 foot SL at OBSAPR, three-quarters of a foot shorter than average that day. This one may truly come down to which one is getting the action for your gimmick plays. Good luck!
