BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, October 14, 2017, by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore
If you keyed our two Pix last week as we recommended with the other BreezeFigs colt that we thought might do OK, you did OK. Though they finished second and third, Conquistador and Tricks to Doo probably were at a disadvantage in trying to keep up with Rubus, who was more experienced. Nonetheless we saw a serious trio of colts who were streets ahead of the rest and a nice couple of payoffs with a $26 BreezeFigs exacta and $60 BreezeFigs trifecta. There were 21 other BreezeFigs maiden 2-year-olds who won last week, with a plethora of BreezeFigs gimmicks. The line-up included: Belmont (four, including a BreezeFigs trifecta and BreezeFigs exacta); Charles Town; Fresno (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta); Gulfstream West (three, two of which were BreezeFigs exactas); Keeneland (four others including another BreezeFigs trifecta and a BreezeFigs exacta); Laurel; Parx (three, including a BreezeFigs exacta); and Santa Anita (two). Saturday's card is tricky but we’ve spotted a possible good one, see below. Good luck!
If you’d like to learn a little more about how we come up with BreezeFigs, take a look at our new website by clicking here: www.biodatatrack.com and click on the tab BreezeFigs at the top of the page. In there you will find a link to a major study of how over 17,000 BreezeFigs horses from the sales 2007 through 2013 have succeeded on the racetrack based on Group and stride length. You can also access that study by clicking this link: www.biodatatrack.com/BreezeFigs-Study.pdf.
Here’s Saturday’s Pick:
Parx Racing, 4th Race, Maiden Special Weight, Mile (Dirt)
This race is has three BreezeFigs colts entered in posts 1-2-3, the one in the middle making his debut and he might go off the choice. Tap Rite Strike threw in a respectable one-over-Par Group 2 profile at EASMAY with a 25.5 foot stride length (SL) that was two feet longer than average for colts that day at a quarter mile. He is a pretty nifty prospect, which is why they paid $875k for him, so he should draw a lot of attention even though a mile for a first timer is sometimes a question. Tattered, on the rail, comes out of FTFMAR with a mixed Group 3, two-under-Par profile; he had a 25.03 foot SL there, more than a foot-and-a-third longer than average for colts that day at a furlong. He ran well at a mile in his second start and could prevail on experience. Nitro Fuel was scratched (SCR) after a desultory performance at OBSMAR where his five-under-Par Group 4 profile featured a foot-shorter-than-average 23.11 foot SL. He came back at EASMAY to post a two-under-Par Group 4 profile at a quarter mile with a 24.60 foot SL, more than half-a-afoot longer than average. His debut was not encouraging. This one demands a gimmick key of Tap Rite Strike with Tattered. Good luck!
